Hola! I'm Mari, founder of April Knit Studio — a boutique knitwear design studio devoted to crafting intentional collections for future-minded brands.
After studying Knitwear Design at FIT in New York City and interning with houses like Proenza Schouler and Tory Burch, I began my career in corporate fashion. Over time, I grew disillusioned with the industry's focus on speed and scale — and the growing disconnect between brands and the artisans behind the work.
I returned to FIT to earn a certificate in Sustainable Business, laying the foundation for a new kind of design practice — one rooted in quality, connection, and care.
Today, I partner with brands who value craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and responsible production. Through April Knit Studio, clients gain access to a global, trusted network of mills, manufacturers, and artisans — an ecosystem built over a decade of collaboration.
