Hola! I'm Mari, founder of April Knit Studio — a boutique knitwear design studio partnering with emerging and contemporary fashion brands to design, source, and build the kind of knitwear categories that last.
Over the past six years building April Knit Studio, I've launched knitwear collections for independent and contemporary brands globally — leading creative direction, development, and production from first concept to final delivery. With over 15 years of experience across large-scale and independent fashion, I've developed a deep understanding of how to balance creative vision with real production constraints: cost, timelines, sustainable manufacturing, and the seasonal rhythms that shape every development calendar.
Through April Knit Studio, clients gain access to a trusted network of mills, knitting factories, and artisan partners across Peru, Italy, and beyond — relationships built over a decade of doing this work with care. I bridge the gap between what a brand imagines and what actually gets made, communicating clearly across design, technical development, and production so nothing gets lost in translation.
Beyond client work, I speak at industry events, moderate panels, and host gatherings that bring together brands, makers, and the people thinking seriously about the future of knitwear and responsible fashion. That community is part of what I bring to every partnership.
